“Walang nagumpisang magaling. Gumaling lang kasi nagumpisa sila.”
(No one starts out good. They only became good because they started it out.)
MIC CHECK. MIC CHECK. MyrVox here. Welcome to my first blog entry.
By the way, to whoever is reading this right now, you’re awesome. Thank you for joining me in my journey as a VA since Day One.
Back to the Pochology quote at the beginning, it’s one of the things that has deeply hit me today.
Realization #1: Never be afraid to take the first step just because of a fear for failure.
I’ll tell you now that I am a procrastinator. Not because I am lazy, but because I am a little bit of a perfectionist. If I feel I will do bad at it, I will delay it. I will delay the suffering.
Fear not though. At present, I am learning how to not be afraid of doing badly because one needs to welcome failures in their life to further improve. But of course, I won’t lie. It surely does suck or feel bad sometimes but the improvement that follows… always feels great.
Realization #2: Introverts, get out of your bubble.
As I stated in the title, this is the “intro(duction) of an intro(vert)”. That’s right, this step that I have taken for this journey is something outside of my comfort bubble. And so far, I can only see myself stepping father away from it.
Now you might think it’s quite the uncomfortable experience for me. And well, you’re right but not in a bad way.
It’s uncomfy because of the thrill the experience right now is giving me. The jittery feeling it gives which is similar to experiencing your first love (not like I had that experience).
You know what, I guess it is a first love for me. Through CVAP, I am reminded of my first love which is cartoons and anime.
In short, while this may be outside my zone, I am loving every second of the workshop and DAY ONE so far has been awesome.
I am looking forward to the next days or weeks of CVAP.
Realization #3: Who I am as a voice artist
Once again, I am Marielle Villarosa but as a voice artist, I am MyrVox. Myr which stands for myriad and Vox for voice. Taken from that, my slogan is:
“One voice, a myriad of possibilities - stay unlimited.”
This name carries my wish to be unbridled or unlimited because before I took the first step in this journey, I was someone who held back a lot from within. I held back my passion, my dreams until I ceased to be passionate about something. I ceased to dream.
I lived with no ambitions due to that habit of holding back or limiting myself. Now that I have rekindled something within me, I am breaking those chains that limits me to being who I want to be - MyrVox.
